NOTICE OF MEETING : JAWUG AGM 2015

Dear JAWUG Member,

A year has passed since the last JAWUG AGM which mean it is time for MANCOM elections again! Time flies doesn’t it.

The Mancom of JAWUG hereby gives notice of the annual general meeting which will be held on the 29th August 2015 at 15 Ohlthof Rd, Fairlands.

 

Itinerary:

  • 12:30 – 13:00: arrival & introduction
  • 13:00 – 14:00: presentation from current Mancom
  • 14:00 – 15:00: Nominee presentation – committee nominees will introduce themselves
  • 15:00 – 16:00: Voting counting, introducing new Mancom members
  • 16:00 onwards: Braai & Festivities

Anyone that is not on the wug and is looking at joining Jawug is also very welcome to come and get a familiarity with the people and how things work on the wug.

Very often questions that are not easily answered on the wiki/forum/chat are easily resolved by asking and chatting in person. Face to face is easier after all!

So come join us for a fun day of chatting, eating, drinking and getting to know your wug and its’ members.

Dear JAWUG Member,

The Mancom of JAWUG hereby gives notice of the annual general meeting which will be held on the 23rd August 2014 at Isisango conference centre (Generously provided by Stoefnick) at 206 Rosies Place (off George Road), Glen Austin, in Midrand, Gauteng. Map below.

  • 12pm-12:30pm: arrival & introduction
  • 12:30pm-1pm: presentation from current Mancom
  • 1pm-2pm : Nominee presentation – committee nominees will introduce themselves
  • 2pm-3pm : Voting counting, introducing new Mancom members
  • 3pm onwards: Braai & Festivities

  • 10am-10:30am: arrival & introduction.
  • 10:30am-12pm: presentation from current Mancom.
  • 12am-1pm : Nominee presentation – committee nominees will introduce themselves.
  • 1pm-2pm : Voting counting, introducing new Mancom member.

Nominations for the six positions on the JAWUG ManCom 2013-2014

All nominations must be proposed and seconded by someone other than the person being nominated. All nominations must be accepted by the person nominated.

Only valid members (membership fees paid) will be eligible to stand for election to ManCom and/or vote in the election.

the following positions are required by the constitution [Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer]

Duties of MANCOM Members
JAWUG MANCOM is an elected committee that is responsible for the administrative duties required for the running of JAWUG, this entails carrying out activities such as, but not limited to, Finance, regulatory compliance, management of JAWUG assets, membership management, Public relations, Holding regular in person meetings etc and the overall running of JAWUG as a formal entity as set out in the constitution.

JAWUG MANCOM does not by duty participate in the technical and network administration activities on the network, these activities are carried out by Core admins and the community. If however they feel they would like to be involved technically, nothing prevents them from doing so.

PLEASE KEEP THE FOLLOWING IN MIND WHEN NOMINATING OR ACCEPTING A NOMINATION.
If you are nominated and are considering acceptance of the nomination, please ensure that you have sufficient free time available to carry out the duties and responsibilities that comes part of being a committee member in the organization.

Its wug meet time again !

Anyone that is not on the JAWUG or anyone who is looking at joining JAWUG is also very welcome to come and get familiar with the people and how things work on the JAWUG.

Very often questions that are not easily answered on the wiki/forum/chat are easily resolved by asking and chatting in person so come along to the JAWUG meet get involved! Wug meets are a great please to plan new High Sites, establish new connections, network and help grow your WUG. So come join us for a fun day of geek chatting, eating, drinking and getting to know your wug and its members.

We will be giving away some cool tech prizes so make sure your there on the day !

Itinerary:

  • 10am-10:30am: Arrival & introduction
  • 11:00am-13h00: presentation from Mancom Introduction and the year so far
  • Membership and Finance JAWUG AUP
  • Report by JAWUG Administration team and new projects.
  • Open floor members discussions
  • 13h30 onwards: Braai, Drinking & Festivities Raffle and Prize giving will be held during the braai/social.

What should you bring along ?

Nashua Mobile club house has awesome braai / fridge facilities so please bring the following :

  • Meat to braai & refreshments
  • Cutlery (plates/cups) Drinks and cooler boxes.
  • Bucks! There will be a raffle and prizes to be won, so bring a few $ with..

Software freedom day  is a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Our goal in this celebration is to educate the worldwide public about the benefits of using high quality FOSS in education, in government, at home, and in business — in short, everywhere!
